Choice Review
Aday's outstanding volume provides a comprehensive and valuable guide for designing and conducting health surveys. The author organizes the presentation around the steps necessary to design and conduct the survey, analyze the results, and write the survey report. Specific guidelines are presented for each step. Issues relevant to sample selection and question formulation are thoroughly addressed, and statistical analysis procedures are clearly presented. Numerous examples are included. Five resource appendixes provide specific examples of national surveys, selected sources on surveys, and additional survey examples. Other features included in the book are tables, figures, exhibits, and a current reference list. This well-organized and logically developed volume is without peer in clarity and readability. Highly recommended for health professionals and graduate students. -S. Van Ort, University of Arizona
