This second edition is imperative because of the major changes that have occurred since the first edition was published in 2007. This edited book contains chapters on transportation, demand-side management of electric power generation, energy management in buildings, heat pumps, motors, energy storage, and economics. Several chapters relate to energy in buildings, including energy auditing, lighting, heating, and air conditioning. Discussions related to zero net energy buildings and life cycle economic analysis are included. One focus is on tools available that progress and increase efficiency and conservation measures in buildings, appliances, heat pumps, motors, energy storage, and electric power systems. The storage of electrical energy in batteries is growing in importance as the cost of battery storage decreases and the number of electric vehicles available to respond to demand-side management incentives increases. The book has a strong index and a number of case studies. Those involved in the field of energy management will find that this book has valuable information. Summing Up: Recommended.
